Payee Services

Money Management Services Help Individuals Live Independently

Since 1999, Payee Services program provides services to individuals with documented disabilities who receive Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and other government benefits.

Volunteers of America Oklahoma is an Organizational Representative Payee through the Social Security Administration (SSA) providing money management assistance to individuals who are unable to manage their Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. SSA pays individuals through representative payees who receive and manage payments on behalf of the beneficiaries.

Any individual 18 years of age and older who receives benefits from SSA is eligible. Some participants are required by SSA to have a representative payee while others may choose to have a representative payee . Volunteers of America Oklahoma's Payee Services program is voluntary; it is up to the individual to choose to use our services.

Participants are assigned a Payee Services coordinator who manage monthly bills ensuring that rent and utilities are prioritized to prevent eviction and homelessness. Participants work with their coordinator to set a budget and goals to be achieved.
